IRTG is pleased to invite you to the workshop "Getting Started. The Path to a successful Doctorate Degree" on August 18th and 19th, 2016 at the Institute for Geophysics and Meteorology (Pohligstraße 3, 50969, Cologne, lecture hall room: 4.001, 4th floor). The workshop promise to be useful and interesting for new PhD candidates. Don't miss out on the expert advice and engaging discussions offered. The workshop Getting started - The path to a successful doctoral degree by trainer Dr. Jan Stamm is aimed at PhD candidates in an early phase of their project. As a PhD candidate you are the project manager of your own PhD project. The workshop supplies you with the tools you need in order to plan and execute your PhD project as effectively and efficiently as possible. You will discuss and test basic strategies and techniques of a good project and time management. This allows you to organize yourself and your workload in better ways. Depending on your interests we also deal with such topics as: communication with your supervisor, dealing with stress and crises and efficient writing.
